'Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh'. Luke 6:20-21
This question is often asked. Don't we have children in our own country that need help? Haiti's children are the poorest in the Americas and the third poorest in the world. Access to quality education can break their cycle of poverty for generations to come.
Yet for many of Haiti's young, the doors to learning are closed. Providence Haiti Outreach is committed to breaking open the threshold to a brighter future for these children. With your help this is possible.
90% of schools in Haiti are funded and operated by Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) like Providence Haiti Outreach. Schools must charge fees to operate.
While over 40% of Haitians are illiterate, literacy rates have improved over the past 10 years because of organizations such as ours.
Haiti ranks 177 out of 186 in the world for education funding by its goverment.
We invite you to learn more about the needs of Haiti's children and to help us to make a difference. Any way you can.
In the United States, our poor children have access to support and programs such as Head Start and Food Stamps. In fact, we have more than 70 programs to assist our poor. We have a free public school system that gives nutrituous meals to kids in need. It has been hard to watch children struggle during the pandemic when our schools were closed.
Haiti's children experience this struggle every day of every year. They have no free public school and no government programs to provide them with food and shelter. Providence Haiti Outreach which provides free schooling and meals makes a real impact in the lives of our students and their families.
Helping our children today will change their future and that of their entire family. Providence Haiti Outreach has been able to make a huge impact
despite our small size. Run by volunteers with no office or overhead, donations go straight to our kids and school. No red tape.
We appreciate any donation of any size. There are many ways to give. Our new Sponsorship Program will put you in touch with our school on a personal level with special updates and coorespondence from the students. It's a great way to feel involved with our good work.
