"I wanted to share the story of a young girl named Maridza, and I have attached her photo.

Maridza lived in Pernier, Port-au-Prince, with her mother and step-father—an area now heavily affected by gang violence. For their safety, they had to leave everything behind and relocate to Jacmel, specifically Marigot, where her step-father is originally from.

She is now attending St. Dominique School and is truly happy to continue her education. I had the pleasure of speaking with her today after her computer class, and she shared how deeply the school has changed her life. She feels safe, supported and inspired to learn—something she had feared might never be possible.

Maridza’s story is a powerful reminder of the meaningful impact Providence Haiti Outreach has on students from all over Haiti, particularly those who have faced hardship and uncertainty. Thanks to your support, some children like Maridza are finding hope, safety and the opportunity to grow."
